The Rules (License)
Actually quite simple: CC BY 4.0 – but with an upgrade from me.
What you may do (basics):
- Share & Use: Copy the music, use it in videos, podcasts, or games. Commercially? Yes, absolutely!
- Remix: Cut it, loop it, add effects. Go wild.
The condition:
-
Attribution (Technically): The standard license says: "You must credit Sascha Ende."
BUT: Read my "upgrade" for you further below!
My gift to you: "Attribution Optional"
I know how annoying credits can be in design sometimes. That's why, effective immediately for my music: You do NOT have to credit me.
What does that mean in practice?
- Monetization: Earn money with your YouTube videos, Twitch streams, or podcasts. You deserve it.
- Credit: If you have room: credit me ("Music by Sascha Ende at ende.app"). I'd really appreciate it! If not: that's fine too. Nobody will sue you.
- Context: The music must be part of your work (background, intro, etc.).
The absolute "No-Gos"
Please don't do this (seriously):
- Spotify & Co: Do not upload my music unchanged as your own song to Spotify, Apple Music, etc. That is theft.
- Content ID: Never register my music with YouTube Content ID or similar systems. Doing so would allow you to send copyright claims against all other users. Anyone who does this will be banned and will hear from my lawyer.
Real talk: I do my utmost to ensure everything here is clean ("best knowledge and belief"). But since I'm only human (and partly use AI as a tool), I cannot give a 100% worldwide guarantee that someone somewhere in Timbuktu won't claim to have composed a similar melody.
Formally speaking: use is at your own risk. If in doubt, verify yourself whether the content suits your purpose. I accept no liability for any damages arising from its use.
